A REPEAT of last year’s county SFC final between Nemo Rangers and Castlehaven could be seen in the current campaign’s semi-finals, following Monday night’s draws in Páirc Uí Rinn.
The Haven, champions in 2012 and ’13 but beaten after a replay by Nemo last October, have reached the quarter-finals after wins over Clonakilty, CIT and Ilen Rovers. There, they will face Ballincollig, or possibly CIT again, that pair meeting this Sunday in Round 4.
Also on that side of the draw, Nemo face St Finbarr’s in a city derby. On the other side, Carbery Rangers and Valley Rovers – both of whom had byes to the quarter-finals – will do battle, the Innishannon side seeking to repeat their first-round victory of last year.
Newcestown, who face Avondhu next in Round 4, will meet either Bishopstown or Duhallow in the quarter-finals should they advance.
In the intermediate football, Bandon clash with Glanworth this Sunday in Round 4 and will meet Mitchelstown in the quarter-finals if they win. Kilbrittain received a bye to the IHC quarter-finals, where they play Glen Rovers’ second team. Argideen Rangers’ third-round game with Ballincollig is still outstanding, with Dungourney awaiting the winners.
