CLONAKILTY suffered their first defeat of the Munster Junior League Division 1 campaign as they lost 26-19 away to Mallow. 

John Beamish (2) and Gus Aversa scored Clon’s tries, and Niall Barrett and Rob Howick each added a conversion, but it wasn’t enough to stop Clon’s winning run coming to an end.

Bandon had no luck either in their clash with Sunday’s Well, losing 21-13 at Virgin Media Park. Scott Kingston scored an early try, converted by Hugh O’Mahony, to give Bandon the lead. Back came Sunday’s Well to level by half time and hit the front in the second half. O’Mahony added two penalties for Bandon in the second half.

Skibbereen are still waiting for their first league win of the season, after a 29-17 away loss to Richmond. Adam Sheehan, Rawiri Wereta and David Shannon scored Skibb’s tries, and Daire Kingston added one conversion.
