Urhan rugby star named on team to take on the USA

URHAN’S Laura Sheehan will win her first senior cap for Ireland this Sunday.

The West Cork woman has been named on the Irish team to take on the USA at Donnybrook Stadium (1pm) in the November international.

UL Bohemians and Munster winger Laura gets her big break as Adam Griggs includes four uncapped players for their American test. Laura is part of a new-look back three that also includes Lauren Delany and Eimear Considene.

Commenting on the great news, Munster women’s head coach Laura Guest, from Clonakilty, herself a former Ireland rugby star, was thrilled to see another West Cork woman make the breakthrough.

‘This is all Laura’s hard work really coming to fruition. It doesn’t always work that way for players – but Laura is a special talent,’ Guest said.

‘It’s fantastic to see her progress on and get a first cap. It’s a massive opportunity against America to get a footing in the Irish team.’
