JOE Edmead’s brace has handed Clonakilty Soccer Club the initiative over Drinagh Rangers in the West Cork League PremierHiSpecCars.com Premier Division title race.
Two first-half Edmead goals helped cancel out Barry O’Driscoll’s opener at Canon Crowley Park. That brace sealed a crucial 2-1 Clonakilty victory and moved the defending champions three points clear at the top of the table.
These age-old rivals needed little introduction having dominated the top division in recent seasons. The visitors were hoping to maintain their push for a third consecutive Premier Division title and potential triple-double.

Against that backdrop, Drinagh and Clonakilty began their latest heavyweight bout level on points at the summit of the Premier Division standings.
By the end of a terrific clash, it was Clonakilty leading the division and Drinagh rueing a plethora of missed chances.
