West Cork athlete produces heroic finish to inspire UCC to relay gold
TAKE a bow, Phil Healy, you deserve it!
The Bandon AC sprint star produced one of the great comebacks – from ‘the depths of hell’ – to inspire the UCC 4x400m relay team to a sensational gold medal at the Irish university athletic championships in Santry last weekend.
Running the final leg of the relay, the Ballineen sprinter collected the baton with UCC in fifth place, but, incredibly, her final lap heroics saw Phil snatch an unbelievable win, as she collapsed across the line!
