FINEEN Wycherley emerged as Munster’s hero as he scored the try that secured a dramatic 20-19 bonus-point win against Edinburgh in a thrilling URC clash at Virgin Media Park.

With Edinburgh leading late on, it had looked like Munster’s winning run could come to an end, but Bantry Bay RFC man Wycherley crashed over for Munster’s fourth try that snatched the win.

‘I’m not used to scoring any tries, not to mind a match-winner!’ Wycherley smiled afterwards.

‘Absolutely delighted to get the win here in Cork, Edinburgh definitely put it up to us. We had to work very hard to get that late try.’

‘It’s three from three – if anyone said at the start of the preseason we’d be in this position we’d have been absolutely delighted. We need to keep it going.’

Gavin Coombes also started, while Josh Wycherley came on in the second half for a Munster team that has now picked 14 points out of a possible 15 in the URC so far this season.
