IT may be November but there is still plenty of GAA action to whet the appetite in West Cork, with local sides in county final and semi-final action.

On Sunday, Ilen Rovers face Ballinora in the McCarthy Insurance Group Intermediate A Football Championship final replay (1.30pm) in Pairc Ui Chaoimh.

Ilen would have been disappointed to draw the original game 2-9 to 0-15 after a last-gasp two-point free denied them a county title.

However, Flor O’Driscoll’s side have another bite of the cherry and will look to claim a first county adult title in 22 years.

In the second of a double-header in Pairc Ui Chaoimh, Bandon finally take to the field in their Co-op Superstores Intermediate A Hurling Championship final against Aghabullogue at 3.30pm.

This will be the first time that Joe Burke’s side play a competitive game in six weeks, coming four weeks after their original final date. An orange weather warning prevented the game from taking place then.

Aghabullogue, meanwhile, have had a good run of games in football, winning a county championship title and a Munster quarter-final, so this will be a big challenge for Bandon.

Kilmacabea are another West Cork club in action in their county Junior A Football Championship semi-final against Charleville this Saturday in Pairc Ui Rinn (3pm).

Donie O’Donovan’s team beat Carraig na bhFear in the quarter-final and won the Carbery JAFC but are facing a Charleville team who won the Avondhu championship and beat Ballygarvan in their county quarter-final.

Beara club Glengarriff are in county Junior B Football Championship semi-final action against Carrigaline’s third team.

Sean Hurley’s side will look to make a county final with Ballyphehane or Naomh Aban, who are on the other side of the draw.

Ibane Gaels, a combination of Argideen Rangers and Barryroe, face into a county U21 A Football Championship final against Douglas on Sunday, November 23rd.

The city side beat Beara 2-14 to 0-10 in Macroom to comfortably advance to the decider. The Carbery champions have already beaten Mallow and Kinsale on penalties to make it to the final.

Elsewhere, the Clona Milk Carbery U21 Hurling Championships are reaching fever pitch.

Newcestown progressed to the U21 A final after defeating Ibane 2-15 to 3-9, setting up a final against Bandon on Sunday, November 23rd.

There was also joy for Ahan Gaels as they made the U21 B final against either Kilbrittain or Clonakilty, who face off this Sunday (2pm) in Timoleague.
