CASTLEHAVEN, Ilen Rovers and O’Donovan Rossa were amongst the West Cork winners in the quarter-finals of the Cork LGFA U21 county championships.

The Haven proved too strong for Erin’s Own in their U21A quarter-final at Moneyvohallane on Sunday.

Four first-half goals did the damage as the West Cork side ran out convincing 4-12 to 1-6 winners. Amy McCarthy top scored with 3-2. Ellie McCarthy (0-7), Becca Sheehy (1-0), Hannah Sheehy (0-2) and Ellen Connolly (0-1) also scored.

Castlehaven will face Glanmire in the last four of the championship after the latter knocked out Kinsale.

Caoimhe Horgan (1-2), Emma McSweeney (1-0, penalty), Áine Kearney (0-2) and Hannah Deasy (0-1) scores couldn’t prevent a narrow 2-7 to 2-5 Kinsale loss. Mourneabbey will face either Éire Óg or Aghada in the second semi-final.

Ilen Rovers and O’Donovan Rossa are through to the U21B county semi-finals.

Ilen produced an excellent display to see off Nemo Rangers, winning 5-12 to 2-7 in Trabeg. Leading 3-10 to 0-3 following a powerful first-half effort, Ilen kicked for home and won thanks to Clare Collins (2-1) and Keelin Murphy’s (2-0) braces of goals.

Kate Carey (1-3), Maebh Collins (0-5), Lucy O’Driscoll, Maria Connolly and Anna Hurley (0-1 each) scores set up a county semi-final clash with Naomh Abán after the latter defeated Clonakilty.

Ballyvourney was the venue for Naomh Abán’s quarter-final triumph where a battling Clon display wasn’t enough to prevent a 4-9 to 1-12 defeat. Siofra Pattwell, Aoife O’Flynn Meade (0-4 each), Katie O’Driscoll (0-3), Keelin McCarthy (1-0) and

Lilah Steward (0-1) were on target for the Brewery Town.

O’Donovan Rossa travelled to Mallow and booked their U21B county semi-final berth courtesy of a 2-15 to 1-6 victory over the hosts. Éabha O'Donovan was in excellent form and notched 2-10 of her side’s winning total. Lia Hogan (0-3) and Orla McCarthy (0-2) also contributed.

The Skibbereen club’s reward is an U21B county semi-final against Carrigaline who defeated Midleton 4-11 to 1-7.

Tadhg MacCarthaigh are through to the last four of the Cork LGFA U21D county championship.

Bandon and Valley Rovers' hopes of progressing in this year’s Cork LGFA U12C county championship were dashed on Sunday.

The Lilywhites led Inch Rovers at the break but couldn’t stop a second-half surge that saw the East Cork club emerge 6-5 to 2-8 winners. Jess Ryan (2-1), Evelyn McCarthy (1-2), Laura Cummins (0-4) and Clodagh Barry (0-1) scored for the West Cork club.

A young Valley Rovers team produced a terrific effort before going down 2-7 to 1-4 away to Youghal. Grace McCarthy (1-0), Shona Cronin (0-2), Alesha Cronin and Lucy Carroll (0-1 each) were on target for the Brinny club.

Tadhg MacCarthaigh overpowered Ballinora 4-18 to 0-5 and booked their place in the last four of the U21D county championship.

The Caheragh club will next face Bishopstown and hope Alaia O’Sullivan, Ella O’Sullivan (1-5 each), Katlyn McCarthy (1-2), Kayla McKennedy, Ruby O’Donovan, Amy McKennedy, and Sheelagh O’Donovan can repeat their weekend scoring feats.

In the same championship, Ibane Ladies were knocked out, 2-16 to 0-10, despite a heroic performance against Glanworth. Aoibhinn McKeogh (0-4), Ellen O’Riordan (0-3), Caoimhe Ní Bhuachalla, Alice O’Leary and Hannah Twomey were on target for the West Cork side.

Dohenys also exited the U21D championship following a 4-9 to 2-10 loss at home to Fermoy last Saturday. Abbie McCarthy (1-5), Ciara Galvin (1-2), Heather McCarthy (0-2) and Kellyanne Buttimer (0-1) provided the Dunmanway club’s scores.

St Colum’s overcame Bantry Blues in an all-West Cork U21E county quarter-final at Kealkill. The hosts built a 3-7 to 1-0 interval advantage and went on to win 4-12 to 1-2 thanks, in part, to Clodagh Downey’s personal haul of 2-2. Colum’s will face Beara in the semi-finals after they received a walkover from Macroom.

Ella Downey (0-6), Niamh O’Sullivan, Abbie O’Sullivan (1-1 each), Maggie O’Donoghue and Eliza Wiseman also featured on the winners' scoreboard. Aoife Kingston (1-0), Faye Hurley and Lainey Barry (0-1 each) replied for Bantry.

Rosscarbery will visit Araglen Desmonds Buí in the U21F county semi-finals following a one-sided victory over an understrength Dromtarriffe. Laura Hodnett, Katie Murphy, Etaoin Hayes, Grace and Tara Hourihane, Jenna Hayes and Lucy O’Donovan were amongst Rosscarbery’s scorers.

Muintir Gabriels were unlucky to lose 2-9 to 2-7 to Cloyne in their U21G county quarter-final.
