IT’S a West Cork derby in Munster Junior League Division 1 this Sunday as second-placed Clonakilty host ninth-placed Bandon in The Vale (2.30pm).
For Clon, it’s an opportunity to bridge a six-point gap between themselves and Kilfeacle at the summit, while Bandon will hope to move up the table.
Bandon did win their first game back after Christmas, a 48-7 victory over Thurles where they crossed over for seven tries. That might give their season the kick-start it needed but they are facing a Clon side that is on a four-game winning streak.
The Brewery Town last played a game on November 30th where they beat Clanwilliam 18-17.
Elsewhere, Skibbereen travel to Newcastle West this Sunday (2.30pm) with the West Cork side looking to win just their second game of the season. They find themselves in second from bottom, only three points ahead of Muskerry.
