ST Brogan’s Bandon proved too strong for Carrigtwohill Community College as they claimed the Cork colleges’ Crowley Cup U16 and a half B title at Church Road.
Bandon made a sharp start with Caoimhe O’Regan and Lisa O’Mahony pointing early to open up a three-point lead. Carrigtwohill were under pressure but goalkeeper Emily Bernard produced a series of fine saves to keep her side in touch.
Against the run of play, Carrigtwohill struck for a goal on nine minutes when Katie O’Connor found the net. The response from Bandon was immediate as O’Mahony goaled on 11 minutes before Laura McCarthy added a point.

Bandon’s defence held firm for the remainder of the half, while midfielders Ava Deasy and Anne O’Leary drove their side forward. Scores from Caoimhe Kearney, Deasy and O’Mahony saw Bandon lead 2-6 to 1-0 at the break.

The Carbery side continued to dominate after the restart and extended their lead when Phillipa Desmond struck for goal, with Deasy adding another point to make it 3-7 to 1-0.
Carrigtwohill rallied with a goal and a point, but O’Regan forced another excellent save from Bernard on 46 minutes. From the resulting attack, a precise delivery from Deasy allowed O’Mahony to claim her second goal of the game.
O’Leary capped a tireless display with a point before Deasy again turned provider, setting up Kearney for Bandon’s fifth goal on 55 minutes.
Carrigtwohill pushed for a late score, but Leahy Clancy produced a superb save as St Brogan’s Bandon sealed a deserved victory and lifted the Katie Crowley Cup.
