A VALIANT effort by Kinsale Community School ended in a 34-10 defeat at the hands of Glenstal Abbey in the Pinergy Munster Schools Boys Senior Cup knockout round meeting in Dooradoyle.

Winners of this competition in 2018, Glenstal were always going to be a difficult task for knockout newcomers Kinsale.

The West Cork school trailed 14-0 at half time but kept battling as John Quinn and Cillian Fitzpatrick crossed the white-wash in the second period. It wasn’t to be for Kinsale after a promising performance showed some glimpses of class that can be brought forward into future competitions.
