Caheragh man set for spell on the sidelines

BY KIERAN McCARTHY

CORK footballer Brian O’Driscoll is facing a spell on the sidelines after dislocating his left shoulder at inter-county training on Tuesday night.

This is the second time that the Caheragh man (22) has dislocated the same shoulder, the first time back in 2014 ruled him out for five months.

This injury setback is a blow to Cork and his club Tadhg MacCarthaigh with O’Driscoll set to miss the next few months.

Just last month former Cork football manager Billy Morgan, who has trained O’Driscoll with UCC, told The Southern Star that the West Cork man ‘has the potential to be among the best in the country’.

This is another blow for Cork boss Peadar Healy in the wake of Brian Hurley’s season-ending injury.
