IT all comes down to this: one game to decide who will take the last remaining spot in the West Cork League Premier Division for the 2026/27 season.

Beara United and Bunratty United will battle it out in a promotion play-off this Sunday at Canon Crowley Park, Drinagh (1pm).

The winner will make the jump to the top flight next season, while the loser will remain in the Championship.

Ardfield’s recent win over Bay Rovers saw them leapfrog both Beara and Bunratty to be crowned champions and claim one of the two promotion spots on offer.

The question now is: who will join Ardfield?

With Beara and Bunratty level on points in joint second place, a play-off is required to decide who goes up to the Premier Division.

Both clubs were relegated from the Premier Division in 2024/25 and are chasing an immediate return.

Bunratty head into the play-off decider in slightly better form, having won four of their last five games. Their only defeat in that run came against Beara in March (2-1), when Daniel Mason scored a crucial 90th-minute winner. Since then, however, Beara have won just two of their last four matches.

Bunratty won the earlier meeting between the teams in October (3-1). 

With one win each, Sunday’s clash is the decider.
