JACK McCarthy scored a late goal that ultimately fired Bantry Blues to glory (2-13 to 2-10) in the RCM Tarmacadam Junior B Hurling Championship final at Castletownkenneigh on Saturday.

Bandon had led up until the 51st minute before McCarthy goaled to give Bantry a 2-9 to 2-8 lead.

Points from Jack Sheedy, outstanding goalkeeper Alan O’Sullivan (free) and Seán O’Leary confirmed Bantry’s win, though Bandon went down fighting, as scores from Seán Ahern (free) and substitute Darragh Collins kept them in the game until the end.
