Warning to bathers in Tragumna as high levels of bacteria detected

An advisory notice is being placed at Tragumna beach due to an increase in the levels of bacteria found in the bathing water sample taken on Monday May 25th.

AN advisory notice is being placed at Tragumna beach due to an increase in the levels of bacteria found in the bathing water sample taken on Monday 25thMay, Cork County Council has announced this evening.

The notice specifically advises the public not to swim in the water until such time as the bathing water is deemed satisfactory again.

The Council will take further samples on Wednesday May 27th and full results will be available Friday 29th May

The Council will then liaise with the HSE following receipt of sample results and take further actions as appropriate, such as maintain the Bathing Water Advisory Notice or remove it.

Information on Tragumna bathing water is available on http://splash.epa.ie and updated results will be posted on the Information Board at Tragumna beach.
