A NEW new range of perfume was officially launched in Rosscarbery recently.

Friends, family, and fellow female entrepreneurs turned up at Pilgrim’s restaurant in huge numbers to wish Joan Woods and June Housden every success in their new venture.

With a background in fashion and the music industry, Joan and June are totally ‘rock ‘n’ roll’, and good businesswomen to boot.

With a major meeting pending with a well-known store, there is every indication that ‘waters + wild’ perfumery will not only go national, it could also go international.

‘A perfect West Cork product,’ is how one of Joan and June’s fans described the product and she’s right because the three new scents are not only contemporary and sensual, they are both chemical and synthetic-free, and organic.

It is the first organic perfume to be made in Ireland, and is likely to garner huge interest from national and international interests.

In South Reen, Union Hall, Joan and June create their collection of perfumes in an old barn located in what was once a famine village.

The three scents are: Rose + Oud, described as a rare, exotic and woody scent with a sensual depth; Tuberrose + Frankincense, an intoxicating blend, classic and rich in scent; and Cedarwood + Cognac, ‘warm, rich and earthy’.

The perfume is available locally in the Good Things Café at Dillon’s Corner in Skibbereen; the Glebe Gardens Café in Baltimore; and the Old Mill Stores in Leap.
