Lifeboats, a Coast Guard helicopter and local search and rescue units are involved in a search tonight for a man who went fishing on Monday off Schull, but failed to return last evening.

Baltimore lifeboat and the Schull inshore resuce unit have been searching since Monday evening for the missing man. They are being assisted by Irish Coast Guard rescue helicopter 115, searching the waters between Schull Harbour and Cape Clear island.

Late last night, the Irish Naval Service vessel, the 'LE Orla,' left Castletownbere to help in the search near Schull.
