On Sunday, December 7th, the fun runs from 1pm until 6pm and Santa will be in situ from 4pm until 6pm.
Children can look forward to hot chocolate treats, marshmallows, face painting and games.
‘The Christmas market is aimed at giving families a seasonal treat in the run-up to the holidays, but it is also an opportunity for local food producers to exhibit their goods,’ said Dee Sheehan of The Crookhaven Inn.
Dee, who is also a member of Crookhaven Community Council, told The Southern Star: ‘All of the entertainment is free because we want this to be a family event, accessible to all. Another reason for people to come and celebrate the season in a very special part of the world is the quality of work by local artists, jewellers and craftworkers,’ she added.
‘The plan is to provide visitors to Ireland’s most southerly Christmas market with a warm welcome in a community setting so will be providing mulled wine, fire pits, marshmallow toasting, hot chocolate, Christmas music and a seasonal lighting display.’
This year, the event will feature 25 indoor stalls as well as a lot more outdoors selling handmade, and stained-glass decorations, pottery, handmade skincare products, wood crafts, as well as local food produce, including smoked salmon.
Dee said: ‘Our Christmas market is a wonderful way to bring the whole community together to celebrate Christmas by the sea in a relaxed fun filled atmosphere with lots of activities for all the family.’
