Three men arrested in Kinsale on suspicion of drugs trafficking

THREE men were arrested this morning off the coast of Kinsale on suspicion of drug trafficking. They were brought ashore to Kinsale Pier at around 8am and their yacht was impounded and is being currently searched by investigating gardaí.

The three men were then taken to Bandon Garda Station where they are being detained under Section 2 of the Drugs Trafficking Act.

According to Supt Brendan Fogarty of Bandon Garda Station this was a three way operation involving the Navy, Customs and the Gardaí and is part of a bigger investigation.

'Gardaí are currently searching the yacht in Kinsale and it's an ongoing investigation at the moment,' said Supt Fogarty.
