RNLI come to rescue of struggling kayaker in Glandore

Union Hall RNLI were paged yesterday by Valentia Coast Guard at 5.15pm to launch to a kayaker in difficulty in Glandore harbour.

Union Hall RNLI were paged yesterday by Valentia Coast Guard at 5.15pm to launch to a kayaker in difficulty in Glandore harbour.

Union Hall RNLI launched and were underway at 17.20pm and arrived on scene near Eve where they located the kayaker holding onto his kayak.

They picked up the casualty, attached a rope to the kayak and returned to Union Hall Pier at 17.30pm.

'Please if you see anyone in difficulty in or near water please do not hesitate to dial 999/112 and ask for Irish Coast Guard,' said an RNLI spokesperson.
