YET another reader has responded to our call to expose littering in scenic spots around West Cork.
Since our call-out, some months ago, for civic-minded locals to keep an eye on the blight of illegal dumping, we have received a steady stream of photographic evidence of unsightly ‘dumps’.
This latest one was spotted by a walker at Rineen Woods – one of West Cork’s favourite forests, and also the forest which is home to the delightful ‘fairy homes’ which draw hundreds of tourists every year.
The reader makes the point that these bags may have been left for collection by the Council, but in the meantime, they had been opened by animals, and their contents were strewn out around the ground.
