A LANDMARK bar and nightclub, as well as several businesses on Skibbereen’s Main Street, are being sold as a single bundle.

Hodnett Forde Property Services would not comment on what the 17,6000 ft complex is expected to make, but there has been some speculation that it could fetch more than €650,000.

Auctioneer, John Hodnett, did, however, comment on the fact that it is ‘not too often you will get a property of such substance – incorporating a large bar with a commercial kitchen and access onto the Main Street, as well as the Main Street car park – coming onto the market.

‘It could also be of interest to a buyer because it has a nightclub on the first floor and a residential section that has been operating as an Airbnb. ‘There is also a very attractive rental income from BoyleSports and the off-licence, which is operated under the Carry Out franchise.’

Mr Hodnett confirmed that the Paragon bar and restaurant ‘has been, and is still, trading very well under its current owner, who has had the property for the last 12 years.’

At 17,6000 ft the Paragon complex is a sizeable bundle, and has an early seven-day licence. The nightclub, on the first floor, can accommodate 400 people and is also fully licensed. It has two bars, a dance floor and a VIP area.

The Airbnb facility – the West Cork Budget Hostel – has eight guest bedrooms offering a mix of double and dormitory style accommodation, as well as living quarters for a live-in manager, or staff members.
