The Bantry Bay has announced the opening of a new restaurant called ‘Bia’ at Wolfe Tone Square, Bantry.

The Bantry Bay has announced the opening of a new restaurant called ‘Bia’ at Wolfe Tone Square, Bantry.

One of a number of new or revamped business premises in the town, Bia is described as a ‘classic-style restaurant that fuses the mouth-watering taste of the great quality local West Cork produce and seafood with the head chef Gilles Eynaud’s French flair’.

With the new marina and berths opening in August in the town centre, it is hoped that the town is set to see an upsurge in visitors and a boost to the local economy.

SuperValu is relocating to a site close to the new marina, and Lidl is currently constructing a new supermarket on the Glengarriff side of town. The popular Box of Frogs café has just had a revamp and The Snug opened its new bar/restaurant recently under the name ‘O’Ds’.

Bia’s caft beer list includes locally-produced beers from the Mountain Man Brewing Company, Clonakilty Brewing Company and Killarney Brewing.
