A rescue helicopter is in the process of carrying out a medical evacuation of a man who is experiencing chest pains on Sherkin Island.
The alarm was raised at 9.10am this morning and by 9.45am the helicopter had landed on the island. The airborne medical crew attended to the man at his home and are due to airlift him to hospital shortly.
