TWO West Cork restaurants feature in the latest Bord Bia interactive ‘Just Ask’ map, which encourages diners to look for information on where the food on their plate comes from when eating out.

Richy’s Restaurant in Clonakilty and Cronin’s Pub in Crosshaven are included in this interactive map, along with 65 other award-winning restaurants across the country.

All of the featured restaurants have been selected by Bord Bia and renowned food writer Georgina Campbell for excellence in sourcing and serving local foods.

‘We’re delighted to provide diners with this new online resource as we know they are increasingly proactive about selecting local restaurants and seeking information about where the produce on the menu originates from,’ said Maureen Gahan from Bord Bia.

‘The map showcases the distribution of award-winning restaurants across the country and consumers can find their closest ‘Just Ask’ restaurant with just one click,’ she said.

Now in its seventh year, the Bord Bia Just Ask campaign allows diners to easily locate, through the map, award-winning restaurants close by for a meal featuring the best of Irish foods. Each month, Bord Bia and Georgina Campbell award a Just Ask Restaurant of the Month to recognise best practice in transparency in food sourcing, encouraging engagement in food provenance.

‘The ‘Just Ask’ award celebrates these pioneering businesses who are at the forefront of producing exceptional food and first class customer service,’ said Maureen.

‘It’s really encouraging to see so many restaurants leading the way in sourcing local produce, and what better way to celebrate this than with an interactive map which provides Irish consumers with some guidance on where to eat to ensure they are promoting local foods,’ added food writer Georgina Campbell.

Other Cork restaurants featuring on the interactive map include Nash 19 in Cork City, Longueville House Hotel in Mallow and the Farmgate Café, No 5 Fenn’s Quay and The Cornstore, all in Cork.
