FOLLOWING the success of their inaugural Historical Journal last year, the members of the Kilbrittain Historical Society have produced Volume 2, which contains several articles of both local and national interest.

‘As chairman of Kilbrittain Historical Society, both I and the members are delighted with the interest in this year’s journal, which is a bigger publication than last year’s one,’ Sean O’Connor told The Southern Star.

‘We have some really interesting articles throughout the journal ranging from Memories of Harbour View 1930-1904 by Rosemary Frost to an article on JJ Walsh by Dr John Crowley,’ he pointed out.

Meda Ryan, a renowned historian and author, who is also a native of Kilbrittain, will launch the journal in the Community Hall on Saturday November 26th at 8.30pm. The journal, which retails at €10, will be on sale on the night and available in all local bookstores following the launch.

The Kilbrittain Historical Society was formed in February 2015 and the group meet once a month to arrange talks of historical interest, as well as taking part in several historical outings.

Southern Star Creative is responsible for the design, layout and printing of this journal. For more information on publishing contact (028) 21200.
