A €2,000 voucher is available to provide a very special ‘Holiday of a Lifetime’ for a West Cork family who deserve a break from their caring duties, perhaps looking after a sick child.

Tuesday, January 10th next, is the closing date for the receipt of nominations for the Skibbereen Down and Dirty-sponsored ‘Holiday of a Lifetime,’ worth €2,000, for a deserving family.

The 2016 Down and Dirty, held at the end of November in Skibbereen, proved another great success with more than 600 people participating and thousands of euro being raised once again for charity.

The causes set to benefit from the Skibbereen Down and Dirty 6k Adventure Challenge are West Cork Rapid Response, CoAction West Cork and Down Syndrome West Cork Support Group.

Also, for the first time, the organisers decided to keep aside €2,000 from the total raised in order to provide a very special ‘Holiday of a Lifetime’ for a West Cork family who deserve a break from their caring duties, perhaps looking after a sick child.

The prize will come in the form of a €2,000 holiday voucher and there is no cash alternative. Nominations are now being sought of suitable families for consideration and these should be sent in the form of a detailed letter, making their case, to:

Holiday of a Lifetime,

c/o Southern Star,

Ilen Street,

Skibbereen.

The closing date for receipt of nominations is Tuesday, January 10th, 2017. The entries will be assessed by an independent adjudication panel and the winning family will be announced before the end of January at the presentation of the proceeds of Down and Dirty 2016 at a function in the Harbour Bar in Leap.
