Gardai issue appeal following Bandon assault and robbery

A woman was assaulted and robbed in Bandon in the early hours of Sunday morning.

GARDAÍ in Bandon are appealing for witnesses in relation to a robbery and assault incident that occurred on December, 1st  2019 on Castle Road in the town.

Shortly after 3am, a woman was walking on Castle Road when she was approached by a male. The male stole her handbag, knocked her to the ground and assaulted her. Three men who were in the area at the time, happened upon the incident and came to the woman’s assistance. The woman did not require medical attention at the time of the incident.

The suspect is described as being 6ft tall and was wearing black clothing with 'PUMA' across his jumper. No arrests have been made.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who was in the Castle Road area of Bandon between 2:45am and 3:30am on December 1st and who may have witnessed the incident to contact them.

Gardaí are also appealing to anyone who may have seen the suspect that evening, to contact Bandon Garda Station on (023) 885 2200, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
