Skibbereen Arts Festival opens this year with a tribute to the 1977 classic movie Saturday Night Fever.

Skibbereen Arts Festival opens this year with a tribute to the 1977 classic movie Saturday Night Fever on Friday, July 28th.

The whole town will reverberate to the sounds of the '70s for the day, with shops displaying posters and artefacts from the period and staff dressed in period costume.

Then at 7pm, Bridge Street closes to traffic and becomes a discotheque for the evening, with music, street theatre, children's games, arts & crafts stalls, graffiti artists, free vintage hair styling and food stalls.

At 9pm there will be a very special performance of the greatest movie soundtrack of all time by Cork group She Said.

The street party is sponsored by Skibbereen Credit Union.
