BANTRY Tidy Towns was delighted to win their fifth consecutive Gold Medal at the SuperValu national Tidy Towns Awards.

Almost 600 people, representing the various prize-winning Tidy Towns groups from around the country, attended the ceremony in Croke Park.

In order to reach this Gold Medal standard, Bantry Tidy Towns has thanked its small dedicated team of volunteers for helping to keep the town looking good.

Huge thanks also goes out to Cork County Council and local staff, CE scheme workers, all the business and residential community, sports clubs, community groups, sponsors, schools and the many local organisations who assist Bantry Tidy Towns each year.

National Tidy Towns adjudicators made two separate unannounced visits to Bantry during the past summer.

Bantry increased their overall marks by 13 to 392 this year.
