Damien O'Reilly announced as special guest for West Cork Farming Awards

POPULAR RTÉ Radio 1 Countrywide presenter Damien O’Reilly will be the special guest at the 2019 West Cork Farming Awards on Sunday, September 22nd.

The lunchtime awards ceremony, which is staged by The Southern Star in conjunction with the Celtic Ross Hotel in Rosscarbery, has reached a milestone fifth year and the quality of the entries across the various categories remains as high as ever.

Awards will be presented for Young Farmer of the Year, Sustainability & Diversification, Dairy Farmer of the Year, Drystock Farmer of the Year, Hall of Fame and a special Judges’ Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Farming Community. Each winner will receive a specially-commissioned trophy and a prize to the value of €500, courtesy of the respective category sponsors.

All of the nominees have very impressive pedigrees and achievements to their names. They will have some hard acts to follow, as these awards have produced a very high calibre of winner over the past four years.

The awards ceremony, starting at midday on Sunday 22nd at the Celtic Ross Hotel, as in previous years, will be very much a family occasion. A limited number of tickets is available to buy for members of the public interested in attending, however they must be pre-booked and paid for in advance on 023-8848722.

Unreserved tickets will not be available to purchase on the day of the awards.
