Drinagh man Sean McCarthy has been given a prestigious award by the European Association of Research Managers and Administrators (Earma).

DRINAGH man Sean McCarthy has been given a prestigious award by the European Association of Research Managers and Administrators (Earma).

The Earma Professional Recognition Award is made to an individual who, in the opinion of the board, has made an outstanding contribution to the research management and administration professionals.

Dr McCarthy is the managing director of Hyperion Ltd, based in Watergrasshill. He has been involved in all aspects of European research since 1980. He has been active as a researcher, research manager and research group leader.

For more than 25 years Seán has supported research organisations to design and implement their European research strategies.

Seán, building on both his personal experience as a researcher and his extensive knowledge of Europe and European research programmes, has been providing cutting edge training at all levels in research-performing organisations.
