THE first housing development of its kind in Skibbereen in 10 years has come on the market.
Cois Ãtha, just off the Baltimore Road, comprises a mix of six, four and five bed houses on the edge of the town guiding from â¬275,000.
The development had stalled during the downturn in the economy when two houses in the estate were completed and sold.Â
In a positive move for the area, a new developer has now finished the remaining six to an extremely high standard, incorporating all the latest innovations in building and interiors.Â
The split-level layout of these houses will make them attractive options to a variety of people, including families.Â
Entering on the middle level, this floor comprises a south-facing kitchen/dining area as well as a large living area with a view to Lough Hyne and surrounding countryside.Â
The top floor features a luxurious master suite. However, as Pat Maguire who is handling the sales explains, this space could equally be used for a playroom with some families preferring to sleep downstairs on the same floor.Â
Here you'll find either two or three additional bedrooms, one of which boasts the home's second en suite.Â
Throughout, there's lots of storage courtesy of fitted wardrobes, vanity units and that all-important utility room.Â
The houses enjoy a B1 energy rating with solar panels, underfloor heating on ground and first floors, a heat recovery system and triple glazed windows.
The exterior boasts stylish Liscannor stone; on-trend natural slate, cladding and fashionable paving on a private patio.
âThis is a very contemporary residence with everything finished to a very high spec,' said Pat. âIt's a forever home dictated by both its energy efficiency and its layout. Skibbereen has not seen a development like this in 10 years. Increased employment opportunities here have seen an increased demand in the luxury element of the market and there's been a good level of interest in these homes so far,' he added.Â
Viewings are by appointment with an open day this Sunday at the properties from 2-4pm. For more information contact Pat Maguire Properties, The Square, Skibbereen, 028 22822.
