It’s that time of year for Clonakilty’s 33rd annual Window Box and Hanging Basket competition.

IT’S that time of year for Clonakilty’s 33rd annual Window Box and Hanging Basket competition.

Visitors have already commented that there are beautiful vibrant blooms setting the scene for the summer festival season.

This year, in addition to the usual displays, there will be prizes for window boxes and hanging basket displays for edible plants, herbs fruits and flowers. The organising committee is inviting all, both new participants and those who have taken part over many years, to become involved yet again this year.

Judging will take place over the summer months and prizes will be awarded in the following categories – residential; hotel and guest house; public house; commercial business; colour co-ordination; new entry; best street; best overall and special recognition award.

The event has been generously sponsored by Collins, Brooks & Associates solicitors since its inception and is also supported by Cork County Council.
