Three West Cork students have won top prizes in this year’s 63rd Texaco Children’s Art Competition.  

THREE West Cork students have won top prizes in this year’s 63rd Texaco Children’s Art Competition.

 In the ‘6 years and under’ category, first prize of a €150 Art & Hobby gift voucher went to Eibhlín Murphy (6), from St Joseph’s Girls National School in Clonakilty, for her work entitled ‘Daisies’.

Other winners from West Cork, all of whom will receive a Special Merit Award, were Phillippa McIntosh (9), from Kinsale Art Academy in Kinsale and Charlie Quinlan (8), from Katherine Griffiths’ Art Class in Bandon.

Prizes will be presented at an awards ceremony in Dublin next month when all of the 126 top prize-winners will be in attendance to pick up the presitigious prizes.
