WEST Cork Vintage Club’s annual show day, which takes place this Sunday, July 19th, is a well-established event on the vintage scene. Its 26th staging will take place at the Show Grounds in Clonakilty.

The proceeds will go to Cancer Connect – a very worthy cause, as cancer has affected so many families. This dedicated charity daily transports people receiving treatment for cancer from West Cork to Cork city hospitals and home again, removing the burden of having to make their own travel arrangements.

West Cork Vintage Club has raised thousands of punts and euro over the years for both local and national charities. Club members attend shows all over Ireland, the UK and Europe.

There is always huge interest in the club’s own car, the Jack Lynch Cortina, which is much sought-after for vintage shows – at which club members always promote West Cork.

They are already planning for the 2016 RIAC Classic Car Show at the RDS in Dublin on March 5th and 6th next, where the club will have a stand.
