DZOGCHEN Beara meditation centre has been awarded Fáilte Ireland’s new ‘Welcome Standard’ quality mark.

DZOGCHEN Beara meditation centre has been awarded Fáilte Ireland’s new ‘Welcome Standard’ quality mark.

The quality mark recognises accommodation businesses that are committed to tourism and to maintaining high standards, as well as engaging well with customers.

Tricia Healy, the director at Dzogchen Beara said: ‘We are delighted to be recognised in this way because we want everyone who visits – whether they stay for an hour, a day, or longer – to feel welcome and to have an enjoyable and enriching experience.’

Over the last 30 years, the centre has become very well known for offering retreats, but a lot of people are not aware that the centre near Allihies is open every day of the year to visitors who might like to have a coffee or lunch in their skyline café, partake in one of the guided meditation sessions, or take a stroll around the gardens.

Tricia told The Southern Star: ‘We hope this award will help spread the word about our accommodation in the Care Centre and in our cottages. Guests can enjoy the spectacular views of the Atlantic, and a very relaxing atmosphere in their own way, and we are also offering holistic treatments as well.’

As part of the centre’s ongoing commitment to providing quality accommodation, the on-site hostel is in the process of being renovated, and will be re-opened in the New Year.
