HOUSEHOLDERS and businesses in Bandon have been told they can expect a more secure and reliable water supply as Uisce Éireann completed upgrade works on Dunmanway Road.

The utilities company replaced over 500 metres of aged water mains with new pipes and the works were carried out by Ward and Burke Construction Ltd.

Jack Cronin, programme manager with Uisce Éireann, said the new mains would ensure ‘a more sustainable water supply, eliminate existing leaks and significantly reduce the amount of clean drinking water lost into the ground protecting our most precious resource.’ 

This project was delivered as part of Uisce Éireann’s national Leakage Reduction Programme (www.water.ie/reducingleaks).
