Such is the feverish demand for tickets in Bandon for ‘Strictly with Nyhan Motors' that organisers, Friends of Bandon Community Hospital (FOBCH), have added an extra date.

SUCH is the feverish demand for tickets in Bandon for ‘Strictly with Nyhan Motors’ that organisers, Friends of Bandon Community Hospital (FOBCH), have added an extra date.

And top judges have been added to the show, including former popstar, Cobh Cllr Sinead Sheppard, and broadcaster Bibi Baskin.

As well as the two sold-out shows on November 24th and 25th in the GAA Pavilion, organisers are putting on an extra date on Friday December 8th. ‘We are absolutely delighted to meet the needs of the people who have continued to support our fundraising efforts,’ said Pat Brennan of FOBCH. ‘Tickets for the extra date on December 8th are already on sale and they will also be doing a special Christmas dance on the night.’

The organisers are also still selling tickets for a Kia Piccanto from sponsors Nyhan Motors and tickets for the draw are €10 with the winner will be drawn on November 25th.

With rehearsals well underway, the 30 dancers have been going through rigorous training in anticipation of the event, under the tutorship of producer and trainer Michelle Barry of Devine Events, with a winner being chosen each night, based on the votes of both the judges and the public. Each of the dancers taking part is also being sponsored by a local business.

Comperes on the night are Deirdre Lane and Tony O’Leary, and the four judges confirmed are former pop star, Cllr Sinéad Sheppard, journalist Colum McCormack Crowe, broadcaster Bibi Baskin and dance studio owner Veronica O’Shea.

FOBCH have been fundraising to raise €240,000 to build a state-of-the-art Day Room for residents and their families. Tickets for December 8th show, €20 on sale at Riverview SC this Saturday (Nov 11) from 10am to 3pm.
