ENCOURAGED by the success of their Operation Transformation weekly meetings last year, a group in Bantry is planning something even bigger this year.

Anyone who would like to come along and be part of the Bantry Operation Transformation experience is welcome to attend the group’s launch night at the Westlodge Hotel, on Monday, January 9th.

Between the hours of 6pm and 8pm, the group have organised a ‘Healthy Living and Fitness EXPO’, which will be attended by fitness professionals, as well as the people who run a number of local clubs and gyms.

Anyone who signs up to the initiative can avail of a special discount and will be encouraged to sign up for the Bantry Operation Transformation – or BOT for short – activity challenge.

In addition to promoting a more active lifestyle, participants will also be encouraged to take part in the BOT weight-loss challenge too.

At the EXPO next Monday night, people will have a chance to meet nutritionists, slimming club representatives and the BOT team – all of whom will help you achieve your health and fitness goals in 2017.

As part of the activity challenge, the BOT team will be organising walks, classes and offering activity reward stickers, as well as entering participants in a weekly prize draw.

And for those taking part in the weight-loss challenge, there will be plenty of group support on offer too.

Like the nationwide campaign – spearheaded by the hugely popular RTÉ series – the operation transformation programme will run for eight weeks.

Weekly meetings will be held every Monday night from 5.30pm to 7pm at The Westlodge Hotel, and each meeting will be hosted by a different club, or organization – a strategy that is aimed at introducing the participants to a whole new world of health and well-being.

There will be talks about healthy eating, lifestyle talks and fitness demonstrations, as well as advice from physiotherapists – all of which is designed to help you to achieve your BOT goal.
