Ballyvourney woman found ‘safe and well' after search operation

GARDAI in Macroom have reported that a woman missing earlier from the Ballyvourney area has been found safe and well.

Search and rescue teams, including Rescue 115 Coast Guard helicopter from Shannon, Irish Search Dogs, the Garda Dog Unit, and members of local garda stations and other emergency services were tasked on Wednesday night.

The services were stood down for the night at about 11pm after searching an area around Ballyvourney and Ballymakeera for the missing 46-year-old female, believed to be from the area.

But this morning gardaí in Macroom confirmed that the missing woman had been located on Thursday morning and was now at home.

She was ‘safe and well’ a spokesperson said.
