Aoife O’Sullivan from Kilgobbin, teaches senior infants in Cork city and is now gearing up for the Miss World contest being held in China in early December.

The 23-year-old came third in the competition in 2015 and was a strong contender in that high profile competition, which saw Miss Cork Tara Nolan from Cloghduv take second place.

Aoife, a model with the Andrea Roche agency in Dublin, is dating Cork hurler Colm Spillane.

A cruciate injury meant the keen sportswoman had to abandon GAA with Courcey Rovers at the age of 17, and looking for something to fill the gap, she began modelling. She is also a regular face on RTÉ’s Today Show.

The Miss World contest will take place in China on December 8th, where Aoife will fly the flag for Ireland.
