A medical emergency occurred at Skibbereen Community School this afternoon.
The principal, Anton O'Mahony, confirmed that the medical emergency in the school involved a member of the student community.
The emergency services, including the National Ambulance Service, the gardaí, the fire brigade and the air ambulance were in attendance and the student was transferred to Cork University Hospital.
The principal said, 'He and his family are in our thoughts and prayers.'
