DUNMANWAY’S rich heritage will come alive through public displays and storytelling, thanks to €10,000 in funding for an interactive arts project.
Stories on the Street will see the town transformed into an open-air museum as part of a pilot scheme run by Cork County Council.
The initiative aims to celebrate and preserve the town’s vibrant heritage through creative storytelling and art.

Fianna Fáil Cllr Deirdre Kelly said she was delighted the project was happening in Dunmanway.
Cllr Kelly said: ‘I look forward to working with the Dunmanway Historical & Cultural Association, schools and all those interested in bringing this project to fruition.’
The project focuses on bringing to life key moments from Dunmanway’s history, including the legacy of Duffy’s Circus, the West Cork Railway, and the Broadway cinema.
The stories are showcased through vibrant murals and informative signage displayed throughout the community.
Crafted by local artists and passionate community members, the project shares tales of Dunmanway’s past and present to celebrate its rich local history, characters, and events.
Stories on the Street actively encourages residents and community groups to contribute their ideas and personal reflections.
