It's sweet! Jam joy for Ross student

A ROSSCARBERY student is donating profits from her home-made jams to local worthy causes. 

Edel Hayes, a 16-year-old TY student in Mount Saint Michael secondary school, starting making jam as part of a student enterprise project. 

‘The company I am involved in is Edel’s Rosscarbery Jams which is the production and sale of high quality home-made jams,’ she explained. ‘Recently I had  a very successful day selling my product at our school bazaar. I received very positive feedback from various consumers on the day, so I have decided to take my project a step further. 

‘Now many local  shops have kindly agreed to stock my product, including Cowhigs Costcutter in Leap, Lisavaird Co-op central and Rosscarbery branch, O’Reilly’s Londis in Rosscarbery, Ryan’s Spar in Rosscarbery, and Hurley’s Fuel and Feed Centre in Lisavaird,’ added the student.

In a generous gesture, she has decided that all her profits will go to Rosscarbery Social Services and the Cork South West Association for Autism. 

‘Anyone who supports my project is not only helping me in my enterprise endeavour, but they can also be happy in the knowledge that they are supporting two very worthy charities,’ said Edel.
