A Guinness World Record attempt for having the most Harry Potters in one place is taking place in Bandon on Saturday

BANDON is going Harry Potter mad this bank holiday weekend. The town is hoping to break the Guinness World Record for the largest number of Harry Potters gathered in one place. This event is just part of the Taste of Bandon and Banshee Family Festival running from Friday October 25th to 27th.

The world record attempt takes place on Saturday with all wizards expected to gather at the Fishmarket Corner from 4pm with the parade to commence at 6pm.

To be eligible to enter all potential wizards must have a cloak, a wand, glasses, a tie and a scarf and all these items can be purchased locally.

The current world record is 997 and they face stiff competition from the Wizarding Festival in Sheffield who are also attempting the same record on the same weekend.

Bandon is no stranger to world records however, having broken the Guinness World Record for the largest number of leprechauns – 1,263 –  gathered in one place back in 2012.

See ‘A Taste of Bandon – Banshee Food and Family Fest’ on Facebook for more info.
