Upcoming street closures to cater for food festival

Cork County Council has announced that it will be closing a number of streets for the upcoming A Taste of West Cork food festival in Skibbereen.

CORK County Council has announced that it will be closing a number of streets for the upcoming A Taste of West Cork food festival in Skibbereen.

Cork County Council will close the following streets for the period: 

The R595 from its junction with the R595 Townshend Street to its junction with the R595 North Street. 

The L-9810-0, entrance into Public Car Park adjacent to SuperValu, off Main Street, from its junction with the R595 Main Street to its junction with the L-9811-0 Public Car Park adjacent to SuperValu.

The L-9811-0 Public Car Park adjacent to SuperValu, from its junction with the R595 Townsend Street to its junction with the R595 Market Street.

The usual one way traffic system through the town is to be maintained.

They will close from midnight to 6pm on Sunday 15th September and alternative routes are: Traffic travelling from Bridge Street (L4211-23) to North Street (R595) via Ilen Street and the By-Pass (N71) taking the exit off for Baltimore; Traffic travelling to Baltimore from the Northern approach via Bridge Street and Rossa Road (L-4254) or North Street, High Street (L-4216) and Gortnaclohy By-Pass (L-4253) onto Market Street.

Vehicular access will be limited to emergency traffic only during the event.
