A HEART-warming first anniversary and acknowledgement notice for a West Cork has captured people’s attention – even those who didn’t know her.

Sheila O’Mahony of Rossmore and Leap was fondly described as someone who ‘liked her hydrangeas blue, her walls yellow and everything else scarlet.’

Her love of pearly earrings and glossy nails, whiskey nightcaps, rhubarb tart and her Cairn Terrier Eddie were also lovingly described.

Her love of fashion and retail therapy, Barmbrack, curly cabbage and chiny cups was also fondly recalled.

It read: ‘She faced the end in rebellious fashion…requesting to hear a verse of two of her favourite poem The Exile’s Return.’

Those who supported Sheila through friendship and other ways were also thanked in a very sincere way in the piece which showed how she was highly thought of and loved by many people.

The piece of writing was shared on line where it was described as ‘sweet and thoughtful.’

Another wrote: ‘Sounds like a life well lived’ and a ‘testimony to her life and those who cared for her.’
