THREE abandoned cats have been given a new home together thanks to an online video shared by The Southern Star on Facebook.

As much as everyone loves a good cat video, the sight of the three black and white sisters with their 12 tiny offspring, all in a single room, was rather overwhelming.

Julia Bertram, a volunteer with West Cork Animal Welfare (WCAW) group, had the happy task of fostering the 15 felines, after it was reported to them that their owner had moved away and left them behind.

Tory Joyce of WCAW confirmed that the three mums have now been spayed by Marta Stephen at The Vet Clinic in Clonakilty, who also shared with us an enduring image of them as they were being prepared for surgery.

All three have been booked to go to the same home.

The kittens are thriving too and, as soon as they are neutered, they will be
 found new homes.

Julia Bertram explained that neighbours had been feeding the felines but they became alarmed at the growing number of strays and contacted the West
 Cork Animal Welfare group.

Julia, who posted several hilarious online videos, said the three sisters took excellent care of their babies, sharing in all the work with every mom feeding every kitten. At the time, Julia expressed her concern that in a rescue situation it would be unlikely that somebody would take all three, but happily they are being re-homed together.
