Prince of Wales enjoys a cool experience thanks to Norman

THE Prince of Wales observed West Cork’s innovation at its best when he visited Clonakilty man Norman Crowley’s Cool Planet Experience recently in Wicklow. 

Located in Powerscourt, it’s the world’s first climate changed-centred tourist attraction that aims to inform, inspire and empower visitors of all ages and is the brainchild of Norman of Crowley Carbon.

‘We were delighted to host The Prince of Wales at the centre.His Royal Highness’ visit to Cool Planet Experience not only signifies his appreciation for what we are achieving here but also reinforces our efforts to educate the next generation about climate change and how they can make a tangible difference,’ said Vicky Brown, chief executive of Cool Planet.

‘The Prince of Wales had a busy schedule at the Museum of the Year award-nominated foundation and had the opportunity to see one of Cool Planet’s pioneering kids’ workshops in action. He also met with some of the 50 Cool Planet Champions ¬– they are volunteers recruited by Cool Planet and trained by international leaders in the field of climate changes, charged with the mission of spreading the message throughout the country via their local communities.’ Norman’s latest company Electrifi is an Irish car manufacturing company who specialises in electrifying high-end cars and he showcased an electrified 1983 Range Rover to the Prince.

Visitors to the Cool Planet Experience can expect to discover what is making our climate change and the science behind it, whilst discovering the exciting innovations and solutions that can be embraced to solve the problem.
